The relational power of home visiting, combined with culturally responsive and targeted interventions in an antiracist system of care, can help to advance health equity across the Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) Program. The Health Equity CoIIN supports MIECHV awardees and local implementing agencies to build their capacity to advance and sustain health equity with families served by home visiting.
Health equity demands that MIECHV programs remove obstacles to health—such as poverty, discrimination, and the consequences of both—with the goal of eliminating inequities in the key family outcomes that home visiting aims to improve.
