Zhandra has years of experience as project director to several large-scale quality improvement initiatives including the Early Childhood Comprehensive Systems, Infant Mortality and Maternal and Child Exposure to Lead CoIINs  funded through the Maternal and Child Health Bureau and led by the National Institute for Children’s Health Quality (NICHQ) and partners.
In her project director role, Zhandra has led operations, grant management, partner engagement and staff development. She has 10 years of experience in quality improvement, developing and implementing innovative trainings and interventions with specific experience in design, delivery, and capacity building initiatives in community settings such as early intervention.
In addition to her work at EDC, Zhandra serves as a teaching assistant at the Boston University School of Public Health. Prior to joining Education Development Center, she worked as a program manager, clinical supervisor, and trainer at the Boston University School of Public Health and Boston Medical Center's Department of Pediatrics. There she worked alongside, Professor Emily Feinberg, to engage community agencies such as early intervention and community health centers to build community capacity to develop and support maternal mental health; strengthen problem solving skills as a strategy to prevent depression symptoms for mothers of children with adverse birth outcomes; and to improve the quality of and access to care for vulnerable families.
