Elaine Fitzgerald Lewis

Elaine Fitzgerald Lewis brings nearly twenty years of experience in leadership and management development, quality improvement, systems building, and maternal and child health. She currently serves as the Senior Project Director at EDC and the Technical Assistance (TA) Manager for the Home Visiting Improvement Action Center Team where she is responsible for planning and directing TA staff in delivering targeted TA to meet the needs of federal home visiting programs nationwide.  Previously, she served as the Project Director (PD) of the Infant Mortality CoIIN, a national initiative to reduce infant mortality and improve birth outcomes by addressing health disparities.  She also served as faculty with the Home Visiting CoIIN as a breastfeeding subject matter expert.  She formerly directed an early childhood system of care that included delivering TA to develop the infant mental health workforce in Connecticut and implementing an evidence-based home visiting model.  Dr. Fitzgerald Lewis received a DrPH in Maternal Child Health from Boston University School of Public Health, a Masters in International Affairs with a focus on Children’s Rights and Economic Development from Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs, and a BS from US Coast Guard Academy.  She earned certifications in motivational interviewing, problem-solving education, lactation science, and professional coaching.
