Deborah Perry is an associate professor at the Georgetown University Center forChild and Human Development. She is currently the Project Director for a Head Start-funded Center for Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation (ECMHC) and the co-principal investigator on a statewide evaluation of mental health consultation to child care in Maryland. She is also the evaluation consultant to the DC Department of Mental Health for their ECMHC project. Dr. Perry’s research focuses on community-based participatory approaches to designing and testing preventive interventions for young children and their caregivers. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles and translational publications, and has given more than 50 national trainings, presentations, and lectures on a wide variety of maternal and child health and early child development topics. Dr. Perry has a Ph.D. in maternal and child health from Johns Hopkins and a master’s degree in psychology.
